Girona will make you feel welcomed right away, in fact, it provides all the necessary elements to do so. The key is its human, compact size where you won't miss anything from a big city.
From our apartments, you can discover the most authentic and local Girona, its museums, and its main sites. Strolling around the cobbled streets of the Força Vella (Old Force) you will walk through 2000 years of history while admiring the Cathedral and its iconic staircase, the unique Arab Baths or the Jewish Quarter considered one of the best-preserved in the world.
The strong historical character of the city has been made evident on each of the famous location sets used on Game of Thrones.
But Girona is also composed of its local shops and the warmth of its people. Its most commercial axis, La Rambla de la Llibertat, will take you to a mosaic with the trendiest brands, the family-owned stores, unique creative ateliers, and the local handcrafters. Make sure to enjoy also the excellent range of gastronomic retreats - each of them are a gem - and end up by mid-afternoon where a simple ice cream becomes art.
And of course, Girona would not be the same without the river Onyar and its characteristic bridges built in different styles and historical moments. We can find for example the Pont de Pedra (Stone Bridge) that connects the Barri Vell with the Eixample, the Pont de Sant Agustí named after an old convent, or the so-called Iron Bridge built by the renowned Eiffel company. Its intense red color together with the vivid palette of the façades and their reflection on the waters provide us with some of the most emblematic images of the city.
